imATHLETE Powers Record Seven-Minute Sellout for S.O.S. Triathlon

Triathlon) sold out of its 2016 participant spots within seven minutes after registration opened at midnight on November 1. “Every year gets more exciting as the anticipation of getting a coveted slot in SOS reaches levels we never even envisioned,” said Don Davis, president of the New York Triathlete Association. “We thought last years 11 minute sell-out was wonderful, then imATHLETE helped us top that rush with a thrilling 7 minute sell-out this year. It’s incredible.”
Set along the backdrop of the Shawangunk Mountain Range, S.O.S. is one of the country’s most grueling and most beautiful races. It is an eight-stage triathlon that brings participants from around the world on a 30-mile bike, 4.5-mile run, 1.1-mile swim, 5.5-mile run, 0.5 mile swim, 8 mile run, 0.5 mile swim and, finally, a 0.7 mile uphill run to the finish. The event will take place on Sunday, September 11, 2016, in New Paltz, NY.
