Pettet Endurance Project Launches American-Made Merino Wool Apparel with Runner in Mind
Purveyors of sweat and disciples of the gut wrenching, soul squeezing power of a marathon finish, Pettet Endurance Project (PEP), announced today the launch of their new line of merino wool endurance apparel. The gear, made in the U.S., and of the best sustainable materials, is designed specifically for the movement of an endurance athlete.
“Pettet Endurance Project was born out of our own love for running,” said Greg Poffenroth, founder of PEP. “Mile after mile, we often wondered why there is so much emphasis on footwear, but seemingly none on apparel. The gear we ran in was fine; it served its purpose of keeping us covered. But it wasn’t great, and over time we were noticing a material difference in the way things felt. So we set out to build the best running apparel on the market, as well as a company with values representative of the community in which we belong. We set out to build a company with soul.”
Details are woven throughout the collection – from strategic seam placement to state-specific themed clothing tags. The endurance line is available on PettetEndurance.com through a direct-to-consumer business model, allowing the company to build better products, make them domestically, and remain price competitive.
Added Poffenroth, “When you invest this much in a product, it can be difficult to keep costs down. One of our guiding principles from day one was to make the best apparel for endurance athletes available, but find a way to make all of these benefits attainable from a cost perspective. That’s why we make our gear only available on our website in order to cut out the cost of a retail middleman and be proper stewards for our customers.”
